Hey all

Does anyone have any ties between the 89 Fleer Jeff Treadway error (blue gunsight image near his hat) and any of the Ripken variations?

The Treadway card was almost exactly in the center of the 132-card sheets the Ripken card came on.

Always wondered, figured this would be a good place to ask...

Thanks!

Personally, I love the 2007 Topps Derek Jeter card. Now I hate the Yankees, being an avid BoSox fan for several years, and I thought this card inadvertently made fun of the Yankee heritage.

For the few collectors that were under rocks over the last year, There is a version of Derek Jeter's 07 Topps card that is a horizontal pose with him at bat. Mickey Mantle is in the dugout holding a bat, as if he's waiting to get into the batter's box, and George Bush is standing and waving in the crowd. He also has this face that looks like he's about to say, "Hi Mom, I'm on TV!" I believe I read that a graphic designer at Topps superimposed those two images into the card as a joke, but forgot to change it prior to when the cards went to press. Whoops!
